An important feature of Bounty Bay Online are the so-called city sieges, in which certain cities can be besieged and conquered by guilds.
On this page, you can find everything there is to know about city sieges, including what happens and what you can do in a city siege.
There are a total of 16 cities open for city sieges, 5 of which are the capital cities of the Merchant’s Alliances. On three different days, the cities are announced as being available for siege and guilds can place their bids for a shot at them. The guild who places the highest bid wins the chance to besiege the city on the following day.
Players and their guilds must properly prepare themselves before a city siege. In addition to making sure every player has enough Healing Potions, reconnaissance is also vital: Defending players should try to locate the opponent’s mother ship before the siege begins.
A well thought-out strategy and effective teamwork play a major role in city sieges.
Sieges of Merchant’s Alliance cities are different from normal city sieges. As opposed to normal cities, Merchant’s Alliance cities can only be besieged by guilds in the corresponding Merchant’s Alliance. The defending guild does not have to have enemy status. These sieges play an important role because the position of Merchant’s Alliance leader is tied to the occupation of the city.
While normal cities can only be conquered through a siege, Merchant’s Alliance cities can also be lost if the leader is voted out.
The Merchant’s Alliance leader cannot appoint another player to take over this role. If the leader decides to step down, the city will be reopened for conquest.
The siege itself is also different from normal city sieges. It is important to note that the area offshore of the Merchant’s Alliance city is not included in the siege. This means that a battle taking place offshore of a Merchant’s Alliance city counts as a regular PvP battle, not as part of a city siege.
Merchant’s Alliance Cities
In addition to the 5 Merchant’s Alliance cities, guilds also have the opportunity to conquer 11 other cities. These are divided into so-called martial cities and resource cities.

These cities can be attacked and conquered by guilds in any Merchant’s Alliance. If a city is already occupied by a guild, then it is necessary to set this guild to enemy status in order to be able to place a bid. Therefore, it is not possible for a guild to attack a martial or resource city currently occupied by a guild in the same Merchant’s Alliance.
The siege consists of two parts: the sea battle and the land battle. Attackers must first fight their way through the offshore area in order to face the defenders on land. The goal of the city siege is to reach the opponent’s siege tower and destroy the flag there.
